Apple TV's Highest-Grossing Film Gets Sequel Tease

Apple's sports drama F1, released June 27, 2025 and directed by Joseph Kosinski, earned just shy of $632 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing sports movie and the highest-grossing Apple Original Films project. At an Apple TV press day, after a question about an F1 sequel, Apple’s SVP of Services Eddie Cue handed over to Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, who said, "Stay tuned." He added, "We’re going to tell you something more in the future," and, "We need to digest the success of this movie.

The film was a streaming success, spending 50 days atop the Apple TV charts, and received four Academy Award nominations including a nod in the Best Picture category. It holds a 97% audience score and an 82% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
