A report from Nytimes says Argentina and the United States signed a sweeping trade agreement on Thursday, a key victory for President Javier Milei that reduces reciprocal tariffs and expands exports, including Argentine beef. The deal will see the United States eliminate reciprocal tariffs for over 1,600 Argentine products, Mr.
Quirno announced, while Argentina will eliminate tariffs for over 200 American products, including machinery, transport equipment and pharmaceutical and chemical products. It is intended to attract greater American investment. The pact raises the beef quota to 100,000 tons — a fivefold increase — prompting backlash from American ranchers; Bill Bullard of R-Calf USA said the action "will further delay the rebuilding of our domestic herd." Argentina must submit the agreement to Congress for approval.
