Arnold Schwarzenegger Confirms Return for New Predator Sequel
Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed at the Arnold Sports Festival that he has spoken with director Dan Trachtenberg about returning to the Predator franchise, saying the filmmaker "wants me to be in the next Predator." He added that FOX studios has "kind of rediscovered 'Arnold'" and approached him to do Predator.
Trachtenberg's recent work on Prey and Predator: Badlands has reinvigorated the series, and the animated anthology Predator: Killer of Killers closed by showing Dutch alive and kept in suspended animation alongside other victors, including Prey's Naru (Amber Midthunder). Trachtenberg has since teased an Avengers-style team-up in a future installment.
Schwarzenegger also said the studio is looking to revive Conan the Barbarian and Commando, though a Predator return appears the most likely next step. After promising for years that he would be back, his comeback to the franchise now looks increasingly imminent.
