Arnold Schwarzenegger to Star in King Conan Directed by Christopher McQuarrie
Arnold Schwarzenegger says he will return to one of his best-known roles in a film called King Conan, which Christopher McQuarrie will write and direct. The project is in development at Disney’s 20th Century Studios arm. Schwarzenegger told TheArnoldFans, "They just hired a fantastic writer/director who did Tom Cruise’s last four movies.
They just hired him to write and direct King Conan." He described the story as, "a great old story that Conan was 40 years as King, and now he gets forced out of the kingdom and there’s conflict, of course, but somehow he comes back, and there’s all kinds of madness, violence, magic, and creatures, and stuff like that." King Conan takes its name from a short story collection by Robert E.
Howard and was rumored in the late 1990s before being shelved when Schwarzenegger became governor. A later effort titled Legend of Conan in the 2010s also fell apart.
