A new study has found Arsenal supporters to be the most disliked fanbase in the Premier League, with the Gunners sharing the top spot with Nottingham Forest after both registered a 43 per cent negative sentiment rating. British Gambler used the social listening platform Brandwatch to analyse hundreds of thousands of online posts over the last six months to measure sentiment toward each club’s supporters.

The sheer scale of Arsenal’s global following and the so-called 'Arsenal Twitter' phenomenon are cited as factors that have magnified scrutiny around VAR decisions, post-match interviews and other matchday moments. Merseyside clubs also featured high on the list, with Liverpool on 41 per cent and Everton on 40 per cent; Crystal Palace matched Everton on 40 per cent.

Manchester United and Manchester City sat markedly lower, at 26 per cent and 25 per cent respectively.
