Arsenal rushing to meet Max Dowman demand
Arsenal are scrambling behind the scenes to satisfy soaring demand for Max Dowman merchandise after the 16-year-old’s historic exploits on the pitch. Shop staff have been preparing Dowman lettering in batches daily to keep up with demand as fans head to the store straight after the final whistle.
Staff have even been assembling Dowman’s name from loose personalisation letters because his name was not yet listed as an option on the wall of player names inside the club’s Armoury store. That is set to change following his rapid elevation to fame. Manager Mikel Arteta is expected to leave Dowman on the bench for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley as Arsenal chase a quadruple.
Arteta called Dowman’s contribution against Everton "extraordinary," saying those in the stadium would never forget what they saw. Dowman, whose chances of making the World Cup squad remain slim, will find out today which England team he will be selected for. Familiar faces have been spotted in and around North London.
