Arsenal target Tino Livramento as Newcastle contract talks stall
Arsenal are keeping a close watch on Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento and are considering a summer bid for the 23-year-old England international as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his defensive options. Livramento will have two years left on his contract at the end of the season and has shown no willingness to extend, a situation that has left Newcastle in a vulnerable position.
Negotiations have stalled and the club is conscious his market value could fall without fresh terms; Newcastle value him at around £60 million after his £32 million move from Southampton in 2023. Interest from Arsenal could also cast doubt over Ben White’s future, with White having fallen behind Jurrien Timber at right-back.
Arsenal will likely need to sell at least one first-team player after heavy investment ahead of this season’s title charge, and departures of senior figures such as Gabriel Jesus could provide funds for any move.
