Arsenal became the first-ever winners of the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup on Feb 1, 2026, as Caitlin Foord struck an extra-time winner to seal a 3-2 victory over Corinthians at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners led twice in normal time through Olivia Smith and a Lotte Wubben-Moy header, but a last-gasp penalty conceded by Katie McCabe allowed Vic Albuquerque to level for Corinthians and send the match to extra time.

Arsenal broke the deadlock in extra time on a rapid counter led by Frida Maanum, with Foord converting at the near post after earlier clipping the post in normal time to become the decisive substitute.

Goalkeeper Anneke Borbe produced several crucial saves — including tipping a Duda Sampaio effort onto the crossbar and denying a close-range Jhonson chance — but was stretchered off late in the game after a worrying injury. Manager Renee Slegers and her substitutes were credited for the victory, and the club also secured a $2.3m prize.

Borbe’s condition after being taken off the field was left unclear in the immediate aftermath, while Slegers’ side celebrated becoming the inaugural Champions Cup winners.
