Ashley Bekton plots all-female bid for Wasserman agency
Media executive Ashley Bekton is positioning herself as a contender to buy the Wasserman Agency, quietly assembling an all-women investor consortium to place a bid. The group was described as "serious capital" and said to include powerful female players in finance, entertainment and "sports ownership circles." Casey Wasserman put the company up for sale after his name surfaced in the Jeffrey Epstein files, including flirtatious emails with Ghislaine Maxwell.
His connection prompted clients such as Orville Peck, Laufey and Chappell Roan to publicly denounce him and leave the agency. Bekton, who has worked with artists like Shakira and Alicia Keys, has kept a low profile but "has been working the phones" since the exodus of clients.
