Ashley Padilla calls Ryan Gosling 'the funniest person on the planet'
Hours after a standout Season 51 sketch, Ashley Padilla reacted on a March 8 Instagram Story, thanking the writers for the prank and praising her costar. "Thank you to Mikey, Streeter, and Alison Gates for absolutely destroying me on live television," she wrote. "P.S. Gosling is the funniest person on the planet."
Padilla and host Ryan Gosling played a teacher-principal duo who ended up on the wrong side of a classroom note-passing debacle. Soon after the sketch began, a message appeared onscreen: "The Contents of These Notes Have Been Changed Since Rehearsal." The pair realized they had been pranked and succumbed to laughing fits during the live performance.
"Passing Notes" was written by Streeter Seidell, Mikey Day, and Alison Gates. Gosling, hosting for the fourth time, also opened the episode with a lengthy monologue co-written by him, Mike DiCenzo, and Jake Nordwind; DiCenzo called the split-screen gag "one of my favorite jokes I've written in awhile."
