Ashley Tisdale French enjoys spa day amid mom-group controversy
People reports Ashley Tisdale French spent time at a spa on Tuesday, Jan. 13, sharing Instagram Stories as she relaxed on a massage table and enjoyed a facial amid ongoing drama over a so-called "toxic" mom group. Tisdale, 40, posted a selfie from the table with the caption "Unreal!
@sarachase thank you for the best treat," and wrote, "Just a little massage and facial day." Other story slides showed sunlight through linen curtains and a room with a bonsai tree, a jute rug and a series of singing bowls often used in meditation practices. The spa day follows her viral pieces about leaving the group — a December 2025 blog post titled "You're Allowed to Leave Your Mom Group" and a January essay for The Cut called "Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group." In the earlier post she wrote, "When I became a mom, I craved connection almost as much as I craved sleep.
So I did what a lot of us do. I joined a mom group," and added that "mom groups can turn toxic" with "mean-girl behavior." In her essay she wrote, "If a mom group consistently leaves you feeling hurt, drained or left out, it’s not the mom group for you" and that "choosing to step away doesn’t make you mean or judgmental." Since the essay's publication, several alleged members have responded.
