Assassin’s Creed led by Black Flag and Origins veterans
On February 23, Ubisoft named Martin Schelling, Jean Guesdon and François de Billy to lead the Assassin’s Creed franchise inside Vantage Studios, the Tencent-backed subsidiary now overseeing the series. The trio have long worked on flagship entries including Black Flag, Origins, Revelations and Valhalla.
Schelling becomes head of the Assassin’s Creed brand and will set the series’ overall strategy and long-term vision; he spent 17 years in various production roles and served as Ubisoft’s chief production officer. François de Billy is the new head of production excellence.
A production director on Black Flag, Origins and Valhalla, he previously worked as an associate producer on Assassin’s Creed 2 and later as an executive producer, and will focus on optimizing processes and removing friction across complex production workflows. Jean Guesdon will head content for the franchise, leading its creative direction and supporting individual games.
