Pcgamer says the Asus TUF Gaming A16 (2025) mixes an entry‑level Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 with a fairly hot CPU and can run the latest games with little fuss, but the review finds the laptop is heavy, noisy and "just a bit too much" for its asking price.

The reviewed FA608UH‑RV027W configuration ships with an AMD Ryzen 7 260, RTX 5050 8GB, 16GB DDR5‑5600, 1TB SSD and a 16‑inch 1920×1200 165Hz IPS panel. The 55W RTX 5050 in this unit can draw as much as 115W and in testing sometimes kept pace with higher‑spec machines; in Baldur’s Gate 3 it matched the Framework 16 on frame rates. Thermals are notable—CPU peaks at 100 °C with average CPU/GPU temps around 75 °C and 68 °C—and Turbo mode increases fan noise. The 90Wh battery can last almost eight hours looping video with the integrated GPU but drops to about an hour and a quarter under gaming; the screen reaches about 385 nits and covers 100% sRGB but only ~80% of Adobe RGB/DCI‑P3. Ports include USB4, USB‑C, three USB‑A, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet and a 3.5mm jack; the laptop measures 35.4 x 26.9 x 1.79 cm, weighs 2.2 kg and is priced at £1,400.

The reviewer’s takeaway is practical: the TUF A16 is competent and well equipped, but comparable or cheaper alternatives exist (Gigabyte’s A16, the Lenovo LOQ 15 Gen10 and the Erazer Deputy), so waiting for a discount is recommended if you want better value.
