Atletico chief rules out Griezmann move to Orlando, hints at two more years
Atletico Madrid sporting director Mateu Alemany has firmly rejected links between Antoine Griezmann and a move to Orlando City, saying the 34-year-old "has this season and two more years with us" and that he is "going to stay with us." Alemany underlined that Griezmann is in strong form and remains central to the club's plans.
Griezmann is focused on ending a personal trophy drought at the club; he missed Atletico’s 2021 league title while at Barcelona and now has the Copa del Rey final and a Champions League knockout tie against Tottenham to look forward to. Alemany described the North America talk as speculation and said the forward is concentrating on what is coming.
Diego Simeone has also spoken of his hope that Griezmann will play in the final, saying the forward "deserves it more than anyone" and that his quality will remain.
