Australia presses Roblox over child safety and graphic content
When Australia introduced a social media ban for under-16s last year, gaming platforms with social features — from Steam to Roblox — remained outside the restrictions. Communications minister Anika Wells and the Australian eSafety commissioner's office have written to Roblox, flagging concerns about "graphic and gratuitous user-generated content." Wells has asked Roblox to explain how it is combating child exploitation and self-harm material and urged a review of the platform's PG rating by the Australian Classification Board.
