London designers launch Auzi to make bejeweled, made-to-order hearing-aid cases
Daniela Groza and Declan McLaughlin founded Auzi in August 2024 to design and sell made-to-order, bejeweled cases for hearing aids, a venture the London couple says has helped some users feel differently about wearing the devices. The idea began when Ms. Groza custom designed sterling silver cases studded with cubic zirconia for Mr.
McLaughlin’s Danalogic Ambio S77 aids; he began wearing both aids daily and told the outlet the cases make him feel more confident. Auzi’s offerings range from a simple silver Everyday case, starting at about £200, to an Auzi Luxe line in 18-karat gold or platinum with natural gems or diamonds, starting at £6,000, and include styles such as Aureille, Hearloom and a Defying Limits collection made with the London run of the musical “Wicked.” The company says all cases are designed by Ms.
Groza with a freelance C.A.D. specialist and are tested with borrowed devices from audiologists to avoid interfering with microphones or controls. Most pieces are produced at a family-run workshop in Jaipur and typically take six to eight weeks to deliver; urgent orders can now be produced in London.
Auzi sells only through its online site and has shipped about 100 pieces to customers in Britain, the United States, Italy, France and New Zealand.
