Nearly 33 years after its premiere, Babylon 5 has reappeared on streaming and is now available on the Apple TV Store. The series, created by J. Michael Straczynski, offers a trailblazing 20th-century sci-fi experience and maintains strong audience approval, with an IMDb score of 8.4 and a 92% Popcornmeter rating; Rotten Tomatoes shows no critic score.

Set in the year 2257 aboard the eponymous space station, the show follows life a decade after the Earth‑Minbari War as multiple species mingle under simmering tensions. Commander Jeffrey Sinclair (Michael O'Hare) is later replaced by John Sheridan (Bruce Boxleitner), and the ensemble includes Claudia Christian, Jerry Doyle, Mira Furlan, Andreas Katsulas and Peter Jurasik.

Straczynski planned all five seasons from the start, and the series was long regarded as a contemporary of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Produced by Warner Bros. Television, Babylon 5 premiered in 1993 and ran four seasons there before its fifth and final season aired on TNT.
