Back to the Future star Matt Clark dead at 89
Actor Matt Clark has died at 89. He passed away from complications of back surgery at his Austin, Texas, home on Sunday, his family told TMZ.
Clark was the bartender in Back to the Future: Part III, appearing opposite Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly and Christopher Lloyd as Doctor Emmett Brown. In the film, Fox’s character travels to the Old West in 1885 and crosses paths with Clark’s character at a bar while trying to save Lloyd’s character.
His credits also include Jeremiah Johnson, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, The Outlaw Josey Wales and A Million Ways to Die in the West. His family said he valued working with people who loved their families, was not concerned with fame, and felt "lucky" to have had a career he loved and respected; "he died the way he lived, on his terms."
