Bandai Namco teases new RPG reveal for March 5

Bandai Namco has announced a reveal for a new role-playing game on Thursday, March 5, at 3 p.m. PST / 6 p.m. EST. The publisher released a short teaser featuring a brief snippet of gameplay, the tagline "A serenity soon to be disturbed," and a stylized "L" in the word "reveal." Fans are guessing several directions the project might take.

Suggestions include a new entry in the Tales series or a Sword Art Online title — the latter is considered plausible given the teaser visuals and the time since Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream. Some observers also point to the possibility of expanded work on Scarlet Nexus; the original released in 2021 and later received an anime adaptation produced by Sunrise.

Certain options appear unlikely based on recent releases and current projects. It does not look like a FromSoftware game, as that studio is occupied with Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and The Duskbloods. A Code Vein follow-up also seems improbable after Code Vein 2 arrived in January and Tales of Berseria Remastered released in February.
