Bara Sapoko Ndiaye sidelined for weeks with ligament injury
Sky says Bara Sapoko Ndiaye sustained a ligament injury during training last Friday and is expected to be out of action for three to four weeks. The 18-year-old had joined Munich on loan in January. Ndiaye arrived from Gambinos Stars Africa as part of the club’s Red & Gold partnership, with the aim of gaining his first taste of professional football under manager Vincent Kompany and possibly earning competitive minutes.
He is currently on a provisional contract until summer 2026. FIFA regulations prevent the Senegalese midfielder from appearing for the reserves in the Regionalliga, limiting immediate playing opportunities despite his promise. Kompany said, "We’re looking forward to his personality.
He has shown that he is one of the talents we want in the Bayern youth setup. Things are going well for him," and highlighted his speed. Sporting director Max Eberl added: "Bara is now the first to really make it to the top. (...) After six months, we will decide what the next best step is.
