Barcelona have decided to make Marcus Rashford's loan move permanent after he impressed since arriving as a calculated gamble in the summer. The Manchester United academy graduate has done enough to convince the hierarchy at Camp Nou that a permanent deal best serves the club's sporting project.

The technical secretariat, led by sporting director Deco, spent months weighing up wing options, initially courting Nico Williams and Luis Diaz before choosing the lower-cost, high-pedigree alternative of Rashford. Hansi Flick backed the move, viewing the England forward as the ideal rotation option alongside Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, and Deco held a key meeting in Barcelona with Rashford's agent Arturo Canales to map out the transition.

Rashford has contributed 10 goals and 13 assists and adapted quickly after being thrust into the starting XI following an injury to Raphinha. The club was initially hesitant about the €30 million buy-out clause but, given his positive start, are ready to move forward with the operation.
