Details of an emergency call placed by Barron Trump to the City of London police last year were made public during a trial in London this week. In the call he told operators he had just seen a girl "getting beat up" on a video call. Prosecutors say the call relates to allegations against Matvei Rumiantsev, 22, a Russian citizen charged with offenses including assault, strangulation and rape against his former partner.

The woman cannot be named because she has automatic lifelong anonymity as an alleged rape victim under British law. According to Metro, the woman told the court that Mr. Trump "helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment." A recording of the call was played at the trial and a transcript was provided by prosecutors.

Documents shown in court included an email Mr. Trump sent to police after they requested a formal witness statement. In the email he said he "didn't expect her to pick up due to the difference in the time zone," that the call was answered "but not by her," and that the camera was flipped to the victim getting hit while crying.

Police records show the call was received at 2:23 a.m. local time on Jan. 18, 2025; a transcript records Mr. Trump saying, "It's really an emergency," and giving the woman's name and address.
