Barry Keoghan Volunteers to Be Next Bond Villain in Amazon Reboot
Work on Amazon’s James Bond reboot is well underway, with Denis Villeneuve set to direct and Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight writing the script. Cillian Murphy has risen to the top of the bookies' lists as a potential Bond adversary, and his Immortal Man co-star Barry Keoghan volunteered himself for the role while discussing a reunion with Knight.
Keoghan told Murphy, "So, I'll do it, Steve, I'll do it. I'll do Bond villain." He has become known for cinematic villainy in films such as The Killing of a Sacred Deer and Saltburn and for a brief turn as the Joker in The Batman, a role he’s expected to reprise in the sequel.
Keoghan will next appear in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man as Erasmus "Duke" Shelby, the illegitimate son of Tommy Shelby; the film brings Tommy out of self‑imposed exile amid the chaos of WWII, forcing him to face his demons and confront his legacy.
