Bauhutte reveals Electric Gaming Bed 2, a 'forbidden layout'
Japanese gaming furniture company Bauhutte unveiled the Electric Gaming Bed 2 earlier this week, calling it a 'forbidden layout' designed for 'the unapologetically indulgent gamer.' Like earlier incarnations from 2020 and 2022, the bed has multiple motorized sections that let the occupant raise and lower upper body and legs independently, switching from sleep to a reclined gaming position at the push of a button.
New additions include a three-section split for easier transport and a retention bar to stop the mattress from slumping when the frame moves. Bauhutte's marketing targets 'people living a supremely decadent life' and shows an accessory-heavy setup: wire racks, extendable cupholders, energy drinks and cup noodles alongside four competing screens.
The company notes the elevating sections can help users with mobility issues, but its presentation emphasizes indulgence.
