Bayern Munich failed to overturn Luis Diaz's red card after the winger was sent off for a perceived dive in the 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen, despite having earlier scored his side's only goal. Replays showed clear contact between Diaz and goalkeeper Janis Blaswich.

Referee Christian Dingert said he had reviewed the images and conceded his decision was wrong: "The second yellow card is very harsh and when I see the images now, I wouldn't give it that way any more." The DFB sports court upheld the automatic one-game ban, saying the referee's post-match comments did not meet the high threshold for a retroactive change.

Chairman Stephan Oberholz noted the incident did not qualify as "gravely, clearly and without any doubt objectively incorrect" and added the call was not completely wrong because Diaz had been seeking contact with the opposition goalkeeper.
