In the closing stages of the Champions League round-of-16 second leg at the Allianz Arena, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany introduced 2010-born Filip Pavic to the match against Atalanta, giving the teenager his first appearance in Europe’s top competition.

Pavic came on in the 72nd minute for Stanisic while Kim Min-jae was moved to left-back. He played 18 minutes, touched the ball 33 times, completed 100% of his passes and won the ball back once, per Sofascore.

Born and raised in the youth ranks of Waldperlach on the outskirts of Munich, Pavic joined Bayern in 2019 at the age of nine and moved through the club’s age groups.

Since last summer he has featured for Bayern’s Under-17s, appearing 18 times this season including in the Youth League, with two goals and one assist. A lanky, quick centre-back known for one-on-one and aerial defending, he has also played nine matches for Germany’s Under-16 side.
