Pcgamer reports Be Quiet! has announced two new gaming mice aimed at professional and competitive players: the Dark Perk Ergo and the Dark Perk Sym.

According to the announcement, both mice offer a 110-hour battery life (at 1000 Hz), weigh 55 g, support an 8,000 Hz polling rate even while wireless, and reach up to 32,000 DPI. The Sym is symmetrical while the Ergo is described as ergonomic; Be Quiet! says the Ergo is "intuitively easy to grip", though the outlet says a hands-on test is needed to judge that claim. The piece notes the new models face stiff competition: the Corsair Sabre V2 Pro is $10 cheaper, 19 g lighter, and shares the same polling rate with a slightly higher DPI but 40 hours less battery life, while the Logitech G Pro 2 Lightspeed is $20 more, ambidextrous, has a max DPI of 44,000, weighs 80 g, and offers up to 95 hours of battery life.

What will ultimately decide the Dark Perk mice is how they feel and handle in use, which the report says cannot be determined from a spec sheet alone; further hands-on review will be necessary. The author adds that if previous Be Quiet! products are any guide, there's reason for cautious interest.
