Beau Willimon submitted script for Aegon Targaryen prequel movie
Game of Thrones has officially leveled up from hit series to franchise. After House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the universe looks large enough for more stories, and the next step may be a movie with one of the best possible writers attached.
Page Six reports Beau Willimon recently submitted a script to Warner Bros. for a Game of Thrones prequel movie. Variety says the screenplay is expected to chart the conquest of Westeros by Aegon Targaryen I, roughly 100 years before House of the Dragon and 300 years before Game of Thrones, and The Hollywood Reporter revealed the studio was developing an adaptation as either an HBO series or a "mammoth Dune-sized feature film." Willimon previously helped write some of the best episodes of Andor, including the Narkina 5 arc in season 1 and the Ghorman massacre in season 2.
