Bella Hadid takes a lead TV role while finding refuge in Texas and managing Lyme disease
Pagesix reports that Bella Hadid has a major role in Ryan Murphy’s new horror series The Beauty and is balancing her acting push with a low‑key Texas horse‑riding life while managing chronic Lyme disease.
In the trailer for The Beauty, Hadid’s character Ruby smashes a mirror and a chef’s face with a frying pan, cries tears of blood and races through Paris on a motorcycle. The series, co‑created by Ryan Murphy, is out Jan. 21 on FX, HULU and Disney+. Hadid, who guest‑starred on Yellowstone in 2024, has said she hopes to continue acting and told The Hollywood Reporter that pursuing film and TV is a dream. At the Museum of Modern Art premiere Wednesday she stayed late to take selfies with fans, and a red‑carpet reveler present said she was the star of the event.
Hadid met professional cutting horse trainer Adan Banuelos at a horse show in 2023; a source close to the couple said they bonded over horses, live in the suburbs of Fort Worth and that Banuelos has been caring during difficult health periods, including long trail rides when she wasn’t feeling well. Hadid was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2016 and was hospitalized last September near Munich for chronic neurological Lyme disease, later posting on Instagram, "I'm sorry I always go MIA I love you guys." A source close to the model and Banuelos said, "Lyme is an incurable disease and constant battle but she is very happy and as healthy as she can be."
