Cbssports reports Chicago Bears coach Ben Johnson said he considered a two-point conversion with 18 seconds left after Caleb Williams' touchdown to Cole Kmet, but opted for the extra point and the game went to overtime in Chicago's 20-17 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Johnson said he "thought about it," noting that "our goal-to-go situations hadn't gone very clean" and the team's "inside the five-[yard line] plan hadn't worked out quite like we had hoped," so he "just felt better about taking our chances there in overtime." The Bears converted 57% of their two-point attempts this season, per Stats Muse, and led the NFL with 15 fourth-down conversions.

The Bears forced a three-and-out to open overtime, but the team "turned it over three times on mistakes from their franchise quarterback," and Williams threw an interception in the extra session that he said led to the Rams' game-winning field goal several plays later. Chicago was also stuffed on a fourth-and-goal with 3:06 remaining on Williams' incompletion to Luther Burden. Williams finished with 257 yards and two touchdowns, including the 14-yard heave to Kmet that traveled 51 yards in the air; he called the moment "a good lesson learned," and Johnson said he was "proud of the group" and that "they all believed" they could win each week.
