Best Buy is selling Sony's Bravia 8 II OLED with the 65-inch model $1,100 off and the 55-inch $1,000 off, ZDNET reports, as retailers discount inventory amid Sony's plan to hand Bravia control to TCL in 2026 and with new models scheduled to arrive in 2027. ZDNET's reviewer Adam Breeden said he was very impressed with the Bravia 8 II's picture quality in the publication's testing lab, noting the set can produce a darker screen than some LG and Samsung OLEDs while offering extensive picture tuning for streaming and console gaming.

The review highlights audio features including Acoustic Surface Audio+ and Dolby Atmos integration; Acoustic Surface Audio+ uses tiny actuators behind the OLED panel to turn the screen into a speaker for object-tracking sound and near-perfect audio/video syncing, the article says.

The Bravia 8 II reportedly auto-switches picture and audio modes when a console is detected or a supported streaming app launches, supports VRR for console gaming, and runs Google TV with preloaded apps such as Netflix, Disney+ and HBO Max, plus integrated voice controls via Google Assistant or Alexa, according to the review.

ZDNET gave the Best Buy deal a 4/5 Editor's rating and called the Bravia 8 II a premium-grade TV where steep discounts are uncommon. The article notes deals are subject to sell out or expire and that ZDNET regularly checks and updates the deals it shares.
