Bethenny Frankel said she was "deeply uncomfortable" after watching a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills scene in which Rachel Zoe spoke to her children about divorcing their father. In a TikTok video she said the moment "crystallizes the potential damage that reality television can do" and called it "f–ked up." Frankel suggested producers probably provoked Zoe into having that conversation on camera and drew on her own "very public divorce" to explain why the scene felt wrong.

She said producers had made her bring up topics with her exes to create content and argued that putting adolescents on television to discuss a divorce exacts a high price. She added that her comments were "not a slight or a dig at anyone," but that, knowing how reality TV works, the scene was "f–ked up." On the episode Zoe told her sons she had filed paperwork to divorce their father and said it was important they had an "open forum," after her youngest asked if she was no longer in love with him.
