Billy Joel sells Centre Island estate pieces for $35.7 million

Billy Joel sold the main piece of his Centre Island, New York, waterfront estate, MiddleSea, for $28.75 million, bringing combined sales of the property’s parcels to $35.7 million. The 26-acre estate first went on the market in 2023 with a $49 million asking price and was relisted in 2024 after additional renovations.

MiddleSea comprises four distinct houses, a maintenance building and more than 2,000 feet of private beachfront. Grounds amenities include a helipad, a floating dock and a six-car garage housed in the maintenance building. The principal residence is a 20,000-square-foot red-brick mansion with five ensuite bedrooms, a primary suite that has two full bathrooms and a private balcony, a marble foyer with 30-foot ceilings and a white-marble grand staircase.
