Based on a true story, Black Bird follows Jimmy Keene (Taron Egerton), a convicted felon who agrees to an FBI deal to win early release from his 10-year sentence. To earn his freedom he goes undercover in a sense, befriending Larry Hall (Paul Walter Hauser), a prison inmate suspected of murdering over a dozen young girls, with the goal of eliciting a jailhouse confession supported by solid evidence.
