The 2016 Black Mirror episode "San Junipero" is being adapted into a graphic novel by indie publisher Twisted Comics, and its Kickstarter campaign exceeded its goal in less than 48 hours. The original episode, written by Black Mirror creator and showrunner Charlie Brooker, stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Kelly and Mackenzie Davis as Yorkie.

It follows shy, awkward Yorkie visiting a nightclub in the city of San Junipero, where she meets the wild and free Kelly; their initial attraction grows into a deeper connection that changes both their lives. One of the series' rarer hopeful stories, "San Junipero" is known for its queer love story and memorable soundtrack.

The adaptation is being brought to life by writer Neil Gibson and artist Phil Buckenham, with cover art by Butcher Billy. The Kickstarter campaign offers tiers that include a raffle giving fans the chance to appear in the comic; if picked, entrants secure a place in the graphic novel.
