Robin and Jacquie met for dinner at Quo Vadis, London W1. Robin had been hoping to meet someone with a nice personality and similar interests; Jacquie wanted a future partner or at least a future friend. Their first impressions were warm: Robin described Jacquie as attractive, slim and smart, while Jacquie found Robin a smart, smiley and welcoming man.

They talked about travel, retirement, family, food and playing musical instruments, and the conversation flowed. Both noted good table manners and enjoyed each other’s company — Robin praised Jacquie’s warm, open personality, and Jacquie said the conversation never dried up.

The most awkward moment came when Robin, well over 6ft, looked at Jacquie, 5ft, and said he was looking for someone around 5ft 6in. There was no kiss, just a polite, slightly awkward hug because of the height difference. Both gave the evening an eight out of ten.
