Harry and Freya met for a blind date expecting something straightforward: Harry wanted tasty food and good company to blunt the Sunday scaries, while Freya hoped to find someone with similar interests to see live music and laugh with. First impressions were positive.

Harry found Freya warm, engaging and a great listener; Freya felt they would click right away and liked his hair and clothes. Their conversation ranged from blood oranges, fancy beans and May being the best month to the play Hamnet, the Edinburgh Fringe, timekeeping, rural versus city living, kitchen experiments, walking (not hiking) and unsuccessful solo travel.

A few small awkward moments cropped up — a waiter had to return three times before they chose drinks, and when Harry went to the loo the restaurant staff all checked in — but both said the other's table manners were good. Harry admired Freya's enthusiasm; Freya liked Harry's passion and smile.
