Bloober Team Reveals Layers of Fear 3
Ten years after Layers of Fear introduced the Polish studio, Bloober Team pulled back the curtain on Layers of Fear 3. The studio first made a name for itself with the 2016 psychological horror about a painter, a follow-up to the P.T. heartbreak, and has since built a wide portfolio that includes a 2024 remake of Silent Hill 2.
Late January teasers led to a live-action trailer this weekend featuring a man who splits the difference between Peter Stormare in Constantine and Jeff Daniels in The Martian, albeit dubbed in a way the teaser leans into uncanny territory. The clip opens with familiar motifs: a man huffing roses, reading William Blake, and sitting by a fire surrounded by paintings that nod to earlier games.
A lunchtime alarm on a smartwatch quickly signals that this story is set in the present, while the earlier Layers of Fear entries tended to linger in an older, decayed past.
