'Boston Blue' star Mika Amonsen teases Tom Selleck cameo rumors

Mika Amonsen, who plays Tom Selleck's grandson on the spinoff "Boston Blue," is keeping quiet as rumors swirl about a possible Selleck cameo. Amonsen says he has never met or spoken with the actor, though a cameo conversation "was definitely there, for sure." Selleck has been outspoken about his displeasure with CBS canceling "Blue Bloods" in 2024 and has expressed hesitation about appearing on the new series.

"Boston Blue" airs Fridays at 10 p.m. on CBS and follows Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and his son Sean (Amonsen) as they solve cases for the Boston Police Department and settle into a new city. The original series ran 14 seasons from 2010 to 2024, centering on the Reagan family led by patriarch Frank (Selleck), who served as New York City Police Commissioner before Danny moved to Boston.

Amonsen took over the role of Sean from Andrew Terraciano and says he hasn't been in communication with Terraciano, though Wahlberg has.
