Brad Pitt's 'Ad Astra' Lands on Tubi

Ad Astra, James Gray's hard sci-fi starring Brad Pitt, has been added to Tubi's streaming library, so viewers can revisit the film free of charge. Pitt plays astronaut Roy McBride, who accepts a dangerous mission when cosmic rays originating near Neptune begin affecting Earth.

The journey leads him across the solar system to a place where his father, Clifford, was stationed and forces him to confront their strained relationship. Critics were largely positive — the film holds an 83% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes — while the audience score sits at 40%.

Backed by substantial production values and a budget that reached $100 million, Ad Astra nonetheless underperformed at the box office: a $19 million opening weekend, a little over $50 million domestically and $135 million worldwide, a result Disney/Fox regarded as a flop.
