Brendan Rodgers appears in Saudi robes with rifle as Al-Qadsiah push on

Former Liverpool and Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has embraced life in the Middle East, appearing in a promotional video for Saudi Arabia’s Founding Day wearing full traditional dress and holding a rifle. The footage, released by Al-Qadsiah, shows him praising the kingdom’s heritage and its growing role in global football.

Rodgers took the reins at Al-Qadsiah in December after a sudden departure from Celtic in October, and the club have invested in European talent since their promotion in 2024, signing the likes of Italy international Mateo Retegui and former Porto midfielder Otavio.

His appearance in traditional robes was presented as part of the league’s efforts to integrate high-profile Western figures into local culture as Saudi Arabia prepares to host the 2034 World Cup.
