Britney Spears' mugshot will not be released after DUI arrest

Britney Spears’ mugshot will not be released following her recent DUI arrest. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office says the booking photo does not meet its requirements for public release and that the department only makes mugshots public for violent crimes or when a suspect is a public threat.

Her arrest occurred in Ventura County around 9:30 p.m. on March 4, after officers say she was driving a BMW erratically at a high rate of speed on the freeway and was stopped by the California Highway Patrol. She was booked at 3:02 a.m. and released about three hours later.

Officers said she was believed to be under the influence of both drugs and alcohol, and she underwent multiple field sobriety tests; chemical test results have not been released. Her arraignment is scheduled for May 4. Manager Cade Hudson described the arrest as "unfortunate" and "completely inexcusable," saying Spears will take the right steps, comply with the law and that he hopes the incident can be the first step in long overdue change.
