Britney Spears has sold the rights to her music catalog, releasing her shares to Primary Wave, a private New York City music publisher, on Dec. 30, documents show. The transaction has been described as a "landmark" nine-figure deal. The sale was estimated to be around $200 million, and Spears was celebrating the news with her sons, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline.

The contract covered her late 1990s and early 2000s hits, including songs from her 1999 debut such as "...Baby One More Time," along with tracks from her fourth album In the Zone — notably "Toxic," which won a Grammy in 2005. Other included songs span "(You Drive Me) Crazy," "Oops!...

I Did It Again," "Everytime," "Piece of Me," "Hold It Against Me" and "Gimme More." Spears, who was under a conservatorship from 2008 to 2021, released her last studio album, Glory, in 2016 and a collaboration, "Mind Your Business," in 2023.
