Brooklyn Beckham says he is estranged from David and Victoria over Nicola Peltz
Brooklyn Beckham has confirmed he is estranged from his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, in an 800-word Instagram statement late on Monday, saying the rift stems from disputes over his wife, Nicola Peltz.
In the post Brooklyn says his parents tried to control him, repeatedly disapproved of Peltz and even pressured him to sign “away the rights” to the Beckham name. He accuses family members of telling him Nicola was “not blood” and “not family”, and says brothers Cruz and Romeo were earlier “sent to attack” him on social media and blocked him last summer.
Brooklyn also recounts tensions around his 2022 wedding, alleging Victoria withdrew a dress offer at the “eleventh hour” and “hijacked” his first dance, dancing “very inappropriately” on him in front of guests. He says he and Peltz were rejected when they travelled to London to spend time with David, and that Victoria once called him “evil” over seating decisions involving grandmothers. He further alleges his mother refused to support Peltz’s animal welfare efforts during Los Angeles fires.
David and Victoria have not responded to Brooklyn’s statement. The post has prompted intense tabloid coverage, wider discussion about family estrangement and comparisons by some to other public breakups, while Brooklyn says he has found “peace and relief” with Peltz; whether the family will reconcile remains unclear.
