Browser Picker for macOS simplifies switching between multiple browsers
Browser Picker is a macOS app that makes switching a default web browser easier and is free to install from the Mac App Store.
ZDNET's author said they currently have 13 web browsers on a MacBook Pro and uses different browsers for different tasks — for example, Brave for banking and shopping, DuckDuckGo or Tor Browser for anonymous searching, and Opera for everyday use. Browser Picker adds a top-bar drop-down to select a browser so links opened from other apps will launch in the chosen browser.
The app also offers a clipboard option — "Open URL from Pasteboard" — and lets users install browsers from the drop-down, simplifying workflows for developers, admins and everyday users who work with multiple browsers.
Browser Picker is free to install; a Pro version is available for a one-time $5.99 fee and, according to the App Store listing described by ZDNET, adds unlimited browser switching, faster browser installations, and unlimited link opening. The author recommends trying the free version first and upgrading if impressed.
