Bruno Fernandes provided the final pass for goals from Casemiro and Matheus Cunha as Manchester United beat Aston Villa 3-1 at Old Trafford. By recording two assists, he took his season tally to 16, moving one clear of the 15 assists David Beckham managed during the 1999-2000 season.

The captain also reached 100 assists in all competitions for the Red Devils. Fernandes said it was "very nice" and recalled trying to emulate Beckham as a child, praising the former England star's crossing and passing.

Despite the milestone, Fernandes insisted his focus remains on team success, saying scoring and assisting is a big part of his game and that he wants to keep helping the team. He even joked that Casemiro should share his goal bonus. The win leaves United three points clear of Villa in third, with eight games remaining that include fixtures against Chelsea and Liverpool.
