Bully Online mod shut down and scrubbed from web, developer says
Gamesradar reports Bully Online project lead Swegta has announced the ambitious mod is shutting down permanently one month after launch. The mod added online functionality and a host of GTA Online–style features to Rockstar's cult classic.
Virtually all traces of the mod and its source code have been scrubbed from the web, and Swegta strongly suggested an outside force may have been involved in the abrupt shutdown. On Swegta's official website he wrote: "The Bully Online project is shutting down. Thank you all for playing." No other information was given, but Insider Gaming managed to recover a screenshot of messages a team member shared to Discord, and none of that detail is good for fans of the project.
What happens next is unclear: the team has provided no further public details, and the recovered messages offer little clarity for players.
