Burnley looked finished after falling 2-0 behind to £48m signing Jørgen Strand Larsen, who scored his first goals for Crystal Palace within half an hour. In a dramatic turn, the visitors produced three goals in seven minutes just before half-time — Hannibal Mejbri and Jaidon Anthony struck before Jefferson Lerma diverted a header into his own net — to seal a 3-2 victory and a rare away win that keeps their slim survival hopes alive.

“It means a lot – we’ve been through some real soul searching and tonight was everything that I have preached to this group,” said Scott Parker. “That game will live with me for a long time – when the doubters were there and the adversity was against us, we managed to pull out a result which was incredible.” For Palace it was a worrying reminder that recent progress is fragile.
