Candy Spelling compared to Trisha Paytas over edited magazine cover
Pagesix reports that Candy Spelling, 80, was compared to influencer Trisha Paytas, 37, after appearing on a heavily edited cover of Westlake Malibu Lifestyle magazine’s February/March 2026 issue.
The portrait showed the Selling Spelling Manor star in a glowing, seemingly retouched shot: a white blouse with a large floral embellishment on her left shoulder, feathered loose curls, elegant makeup and a bright red manicure. The cover, headlined "Three fascinating life chapters" about the mother of two, prompted social-media comparisons to younger celebrities — one user wrote, "Is Candy in the room with us? It looks like @trishapaytas," while others said they mistook the image for Gizelle Bryant, Khloe Kardashian or Rihanna. Some commenters questioned the apparent editing ("What in the world," "Totally untouched photo :))"), while others praised her "commanding presence" and "style overload."
A representative did not immediately return requests for comment. In a wide-ranging interview with the magazine, Candy — mother of Tori Spelling, 52, and Randy Spelling, 47 — recalled her late husband Aaron Spelling, saying, "My husband was a genius at giving audiences television shows that became a part of American culture," and noting he used to say, "I know how to produce eye candy." She added, "No pun intended!"
