Capcom Cuts Street Fighter 6 Capcom Cup Pay-Per-View Price From $50 to $10
Capcom has reduced the pay-per-view price for the Capcom Cup finals livestream after criticism last year from fans and esports pros. The multi-day viewing bundle, originally priced at $50, is now on sale for $10.
Tetsuya Tabuchi, head of Capcom’s esports division, said initial pricing was set "based on the domestic Japanese benchmark of the Street Fighter League single-day live viewing ticket, which was priced at ¥4,000." He added that, "after reviewing pricing structures and cost-of-living standards across a wide range of global content, we have re-evaluated the pricing to ensure that fans around the world can more easily enjoy the event."
Tabuchi said the company has "set unified pricing for both Japanese and English broadcasts," and you’ll no longer have to pay $50 to stream the next Capcom Cup event live, though it will not be free.
